Abstract

The liquid waste from adhesive tape production contains several parameters that must be controlled, including COD, TSS, total ammonia, oil and grease, and pH. The objective of this research is to determine the parameter values after treatment and to assess whether variations in voltage and contact time during electrocoagulation have an effect on the reduction of COD, TSS, total ammonia oil and grease, and pH levels in adhesive tape waste. Testing was conducted using a reactor measuring 20 cm x 20 cm x 14 cm. The voltages used were 8V, 14V, and 20V, while contact times were 40 minutes and 70 minutes. The electrodes used were zinc (Zn) plates measuring 10 cm x 4 cm, with a total of 8 plates. The most effective voltage was 20V with a processing time of 70 minutes, resulting in a reduction percentage of COD by 99.12% TSS by 89.61% total ammonia by 93.14% and oil and grease by 97.38%.
