Abstract

The phosphate removal from wastewater has been developed using different methods. One of these methods is to utilize phosphate ability to cristalize, for recycjle purposes. Fluidized bed reactors using silica sand media of 0,3 – 0,5 mm diameter were constructed. Reactor performance was studied by manipulating the pH (9, 10 and 11) and the molar rasio of Ca/PO4 ( 7/5, 13/5, and 19/5 ). The results show that pH was affected the phosphate removal. pH 10 showed the highed removal. The effect of molar ratio was significant with  molar ratio of 19/5 showed the highest removal. Efficiency of phosphate removal was about 76,5%.
