IDENTIFIKASI MIKROORGANISME DOMINAN PADA MEDIA UNGGUN BIOFILTER YANG BERPERAN DALAM PENYISIHAN H2S DAN NH3

Abstract
Biofiltration teshnique is a suitable alternative for controlling of air pollution. Primary factor of succeeding on applying of the biofiltration technique is microorganism activities. The aim of this study is isolation and identification of domi-nant microorganism which main role on reducing H2S and NH3 gaseus. Two types of biofilter packing were used on these experiments, one pack with mixture of palm oil shell and solid rubber waste and the other with palm oil fiber packing. Biofilter conducted with variation contamination gas. First operation only conducted by NH3 gas, while second operation conduction by mixture of NH3 and H2S. Microorganism from bacteria and fungi are iso-lated from sample, obtained by pure culture, then identified by its type. The dominant microorganism in the both biofil-ter media of bacterium is from the genus of Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Alcaligenes, and fungi from genus Trichosporon and Moniella.
