Abstract

One of the physical-chemical wastewater treatment processes is adsorption. In the adsorption process adsorbent is used for adsorbig the adsorbate. Rice husk has high concentrations of carbon and SiO2. Both elements are good materials to produce charcoal. In this research rice husk was prepared as adsorbent using  NaOH as an activator for increasing the adsorption capacity of the active carbon being produced. In order to determine about adsorbtion efficiency of the rice husk, this research was performed by applying three variations of adsorbent concenrtrations and agitation speeds in the batch reactors for color removal of the textile industry wastewater. Efficiency of the color removal was 23% with a dosage of 100 mg/l.
