Abstract

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) represents the elementary substance of detergent which is utilized extensively in society due to their ability as good surfactant. Excessive SLS in estuarine is dangerous for aquatic organism like tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon, Fab.). Due to this reason, a research on  the toxicity of SLS to tiger prawn  juvenile was conducted. The results showed that LC50-96h of SLS to PL2 of tiger prawn was 42.43 mg/L, for PL15 the value of LC50-96h of SLS is 51,89 mg/L, and for PL25 the value of LC50-96h of SLS is 336.36 mg/L.
